BHSF students Xia Xiaomeng, Liu Qian, Chen Teng, Li Zhunan, Yili Hongyang, Gu Xiaofeng, Liu Mengde, Liu Bowen, Dai Jingcheng and Dong Shitong joined in the 2nd Xicheng District Primary and Secondary School Students English Drama Competition and received unanimous acclaim from all the judges and audience for their excellence in the performance of the Merchant of Venice, which won the first place of the first prize. Aside from it, Chen Teng was awarded “The Best Director”, and Dai Jingcheng “The Best Supporting Actor”.
Led by English teacher Liu Miao, all the members of the BHSF English Drama Club devoted themselves to the preparations for the play in spite of the tight academic schedule and limited time. Their efforts paid off at the end of the play when a judge remarked that their performance was the most impressive and engaging one of all those he had watched in years.
